I am providing the following fee schedule for Professional Engineering Services provided on behalf of Engineering Investigation, LLC. I am a Licensed Professional Engineer in both Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. During an investigation, I will practice Engineering in either discipline with no change in the billed hourly rate. Engineering Services for all matters pertaining to Engineering work and testimony as an Expert Witness are as follows:
Professional Service
- Investigation matters pertaining to Mechanical Engineering – $335/hour
- Investigation matters pertaining to Electrical Engineering – $335/hour
- Preparation for deposition & trial & mediation & arbitration – $335/hour
- Deposition and court room testimony – $475/hour
Limitation of Billed Hours
I bill no more than 12 hours in any one day during a site visit for an assigned investigation regardless of the number of hours in excess of 12 hours that are actually worked.
Travel Hours
For each case, I will attempt to minimize travel cost by using the most expedient means. All commercial carrier flights and hotels will be billed at cost with no markup. Vehicle travel will be billed at $0.85 per mile.
You will not be charged for meals. All other travel associated costs (e.g., rental car, tolls, parking, etc.) will be billed at cost.
Lab Fees/Additional Experts
Laboratory fees, if not included in the initial budget for an investigation, will be an additional expense that will be billed at cost. A budget for the work will be given. No work will proceed without your approval.
During or following our investigation, should the services of a Chemist or other Expert be required, you will be promptly notified. You will be provided with a description of services to be rendered and the estimated fees. Additional work will begin only after your approval.
Photography
Digital images will be taken during the investigation at no extra charge per image. The images will be recorded in high resolution .jpg format and uploaded in original format to mirrored cloud storage systems for archiving. All images utilized in an Engineering Report are included in the cost of the preparation of the report with no additional charge.
Deposition or litigation services/expenses incurred by any employee of Engineering Investigation, LLC or any independent contractor engaged by Engineering Investigation, LLC, arising out of this case or any companion case will be invoiced to you at the same rates as outlined above. A companion case is any legal matter, civil or criminal, which may arise out of the same occurrence that Engineering Investigation, LLC is investigating on your behalf and in which Engineering Investigation, LLC is not a party.
